About
What it does
Amplitude Volatility ranks how wild this bar is versus recent bars. The panel labels the live bar unusually quiet, typical activity, or unusually wild. Typical high and typical low sit on the live bar. Calculations use closed-bar history. It never sends orders. It does not forecast the future. The typical range is a historical size for this bar, not a prediction engine.
How to use it
Attach it to any symbol and timeframe. Leave History Days at 20 unless you want a shorter or longer window. Quiet is at or below rank 25. Wild is at or above rank 75. The colour flips after 2 confirming bars. Read the panel for this bar's rank; use the typical high/low only as the past size of a bar like this, not as a target. The panel stays blank until it has enough samples.
Inputs
Lookback: InpHistoryDays (rank against this many calendar days, default 20), InpRankWindow (used only if History Days = 0, default 250). What counts as quiet / wild: InpSqueezeBelow (quiet at or below this rank, default 25), InpExpandAbove (wild at or above this rank, default 75), InpConfirmBars (bars before the colour flips, default 2). Typical range on the price chart: InpDrawProjection (draw typical high/low of this bar, default true), InpProjSmooth (smooth the typical-range lookup, default 3), InpProjColor (envelope colour). Panel: InpShowHud (on-chart explanation card, default true), InpPanelCorner (default left upper), InpPanelX (default 15), InpPanelY (default 30). Alerts: InpAlertOnRegimeChange (alert when confirmed quiet/wild flips, default false).
Recommended context
Works on FX, metals, energy, and crypto. Readable on any timeframe; the shots show H1, M2, and M15. The indicator does not trade, so no fill policy or stop-level assumptions apply.
What it does not do
It does not forecast the future. It ranks how wild this bar is versus recent bars. The typical high/low is a historical size, not a prediction engine. It does not place orders, grid, martingale, or average in. It does not use DLL, WebRequest, or network access. It never sends orders.
